Junior H became a viral success with his self-made music video, “No Eh Cambiado” (I haven’t changed). In two months, the video reached two million views,” he says, adding that thanks to his viral clip, he was discovered by his now-manager Jimmy Humilde. “I went to Los Angeles, where I currently live, and we talked. Thank God, I was able to release my first album, Atrapado En Un Sueño, under the Rancho Humilde record label.”
His debut album, Atrapado En Un Sueño, entered the Billboard charts as the Top 5 in Top Latin Albums. In an interview with Billboard, he admitted that his favorite track from that album is “Dicen” and said, “I wrote that song for my friend in Mexico. His life is very similar to mine, and we’ve gone through some tough times together. I wrote that song with all my heart.”
Junior H doesn’t call himself a sad boy for no reason - he definitely is one. He mentioned that his inspiration for songwriting is personal challenges. It is apparent in his music as he sings about ambition, being optimistic, street life, toxic relationships, and more. Junior H has become an icon of the corrido tumbado through his charismatic voice and trap-infused sierreño style.
Junior’s brilliant pace continued the following year post-debut with another full-length, “$ad Boyz 4 Life.” It peaked at number five and remained on the chart for the majority of the year. With the singles “Nac Para Amarte” and “Empresa Fly Club,” he teased a future album in December.
He went on to release “Mi Vida en un Cigarro 2,” with a massive tracklist of 21 songs; it included collaborations with Eslabón Armado (“Pa’ Que Te Duela”), Luis R Conriquez (“Los Botones Azules”), Junior Torres (“El Pelos”), and Compa Steve (“El Pana”). It debuted on the Mexican Regional Albums chart at number one. He became the youngest artist to reach that milestone.
His most recent release, “Contingente,” featured collaborations with Paloma Mami, Snow Tha Product, and OVI.
He will head to a second headlining North American tour this fall, making a stop in Washington! Catch him live at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater on Saturday, the 30th of September, 2023.
