The band may be from Denmark but they’re heavy hitters right in the U.S. Volbeat has topped the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock charts with a total of ten singles, including their latest single to hit number 1, “Shotgun Blues.” But it’s been more than a decade since Volbeat made their phenomenal breakthrough into the US charts. The smashing hit, “Fallen,” from 2010’s Beyond Hell/Above Heaven was a surefire international sensation but it particularly put Volbeat on the map. The follow up single, “Heaven nor Hell,” from the same album wasted no time and went straight to number 1.

Female fronted heavy metal band Halestrom has been around since the late 90s but it wasn’t until the late 2000s that they got to release some major works, including their self-titled debut album. The incredible work made its breakthrough into the charts landing at a cool number 11 on the Rock charts. In 2012, the band’s sophomore effort, The Strange Case Of… spawned the hit, “Love Bites So Do I,” which earned them their first Grammy win for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. Last year, Halestorm dropped “Can You See Me in the Dark?” with I Prevail, a single that is rumored to be in their forthcoming album.
